Christine Spence

Christine Spence, 62, of Norris City passed away at 1:30 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Ottawa, IL on December 6, 1953 the daughter of John and Donna (Kudrick) Lepper. Christine married Melvin G. Spence on September 1, 1984. She was a graduate of Streator Township High School and a homemaker. Christine was active in supporting the March of Dimes, Wounded Warriors and the St. Labre Indian School in Montana.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Mel; a daughter and son-in-law, Sahray and Matt Lydick of Springerton; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Steve "Boo" and Amanda Bishop of Norris City, Stony and Kristina Bishop of Norris City, Dustin Bishop of Marion, Adam and Angela Spence of Carmi and Nicholas Spence of Norris City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Dan Burger of Streator and Sue and Jeff Neiggeman of Streator; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Denise Lepper of Streator; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Steve Bishop.

Visitation for Christine Spence, 62, of Norris City will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Private burial will be in Village Cemetery near Norris City. Memorial contributions may be made in Christine's memory to Deaconess VNA Plus Hospice, 1300 US-45, Eldorado, IL 62930 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
