Chelsea Glen Rudolph, 99, of Carmi, slipped into God's embrace on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He was born December 19, 1912 in White County, IL, the son of Chelsea Roland and Nola May (Kuykendall) Rudolph, He married Mary Olive Ridenour August 27, 1933 and she preceded him in death April 30, 2006.

Glen had an early start in farming, as he and his mother put out their farm crop when he was only eleven years old. He was considered an excellent farmer, hunter, leader and carpenter. Glen was known throughout the state as one of the finest harness horse driver, trainer and breeder of that sport. He was road commissioner of Hawthorne Township for many years and a member and trustee of McHenry Methodist Church.

Glen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Mike Croghan of Carmi; two grandsons, Kelly Croghan and wife, Darcy, of Louisville, KY and Patrick and wife, Beckie of St. Albans, WV; two great-granchildren, McKenzie and Sean Croghan; three step great-grandchildren, Craig Sherman, Charlie and Leslie Sattes; and three step great-great-grandchildren, Corey, Clemente and Shelby.

Graveside funeral services and burial for Chlsea Glen Rudolph, 99, of Carmi will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi following a visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Supportive Living of Wabash or TIP Hospice and will be accpeted at Campbell Funeral Home.
