Charlotte Hayse

Charlotte Hayse, 80, of Carmi, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 12:20 p.m. at her residence near Carmi. She was born July 5, 1931 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Thomas and Myrne (Wilson) Smothers. She married Paul Darrell Hayse and he preceded her in death March 15, 2003. Charlotte was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Carmi.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Hoskins of Norris City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Michael and Linda S. Hayse and Paul Arthur and Linda K. Hayse all of Carmi; and three grandchildren, Laura, Sarah, and Isaac Hayse. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Hayse; and a brother, Red Smothers.
Funeral services for Charlotte Hayse, 80, of Carmi, will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Carmi with Rev. Luke Raczkowski officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery near Ina, IL. Friends may call on Friday, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. The body will lie in state on Saturday at the church after 9:00 a.m.
Memorial gifts may be given in Charlotte's name to First Baptist Church in Carmi and will be accepted at the funeral home.
