Charles Victor (Vic) Jones, 90 of Carmi, died Thursday evening January 15, 2015 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He was born on July 18, 1924 in Centerville (White County), the son of John and Lillie (Hansman) Jones. He married Violet Wallace on December 31 1943 in Crossville and she survives.
Vic had worked for the City of Carmi and Wabash Valley. He was the Sanitary Inspector at Egyptian Health and retired in 1985. He was an active member of Senior Citizens and attended the Primitive Baptist Church in Crossville.
In addition to his wife, Violet, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles Richard & Angela Jones of Boonville; grandsons, Kyle R. (Maretta) Jones of Delaware and Aaron C. (Kristi) Jones of Alaska; two great-grandchildren, Jaylon J. Jones and Cambrae G. Jones of Alaska; sister-in-law, Wilma Jones of Crossville. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Jones, John Jones, Jr., Earl Jones and sister, Valetta Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the funeral home.
