Charles Cochrum

Charles E. “Gene” Cochrum, 80, of Mt. Vernon, IN died at 9:30 PM, Monday, May 10, 2004 at his home. He was born September 7, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, IN son of Wilbert F. and Daisy (Redman) Cochrum. Gene was an Operating Engineer with Midwest Operating Engineers retiring in 1994 after 50 years. Gene was preceded in death by a son Michael.
Gene is survived by his son George Cochrum of Mt. Vernon; 2 daughters, Ellen Miller of Constantine, Michigan and Jackie Darr of Mt Vernon and several grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Mary Robb and Wilma L. Vanderver both of Mt. Vernon.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 14, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN. Friends may call 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home.
