Charles Buckner

Charles E. Buckner, 69 of Benton, passed away Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Carbondale Hospital. He was born September 9, 1947 in Carmi, the son of Jacob Anderson and Nellie L. (Dow) Buckner.
Charles was a Foreman in the IN State Prison System. He also worked as a welder and mechanic. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by daughters, Christina Dawn Buckner of Carmi and Kelly Lynn Buckner of Michigan City, IN; brothers, Robert Buckner of Michigan City, IN and William Buckner of The Villages, FL; nieces, Cindy Morton and Linda Moles; he was preceded in death by a sister, Twyla Dawn Williams.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Enfield Cemetery in Enfield. Military rites will be conducted by the combined units of the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
