Charles Fred Bradshaw, 83, of Carmi passed away at 6:35 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2015 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born February 29, 1932 in Posey County, Indiana the son of Benjamin Harrison and Mary (Buttry) Bradshaw. Fred married Ella Mae Sturm on July 22, 1951 and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2012. He was a salesmen for Electrolux and operated Bradshaw Sales. Fred was an active member of Cherry St. General Baptist Church where he was a deacon and played the piano.
Fred is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Jeff Hosick of Carmi; four sons and three daughter-in-laws, Charles and Kathy Bradshaw of Warner Robbins, GA, Terry (Kathy Ireland) Bradshaw and Gary and Gayla Bradshaw all of Mt. Vernon, IL; and Jack and Jill Bradshaw of Carmi; ten grandchildren, Michel (Randy) Daniel, Melissa Bradshaw, Kendra (Scott) Fiala, Lucy (Jeremy) Redman, Abby (Jody) Underwood, Ryan (Krista) Bradshaw, Ben Bradshaw, Keaton (Lacey) Bradshaw, Kyle (Holley) Hosick and Lindsey Hosick; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Purcell of Greenville, KY and Wilma Gentry of Mt. Vernon, IL; and a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carol Ann Bradshaw of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Bradshaw and Harrison Junior "Red" Bradshaw.
Funeral services for Charles Fred Bradshaw, 83, of Carmi will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Cherry St. General Baptist Church with Rev. Lowes Browning officiating. Burial will be in Kingdom Cemetery in Carmi with Military rites by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Cherry St. General Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Cherry St. General Baptist Church Food Pantry and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
