Charles Franklin Bee Sr., 87 of Wadesville, passed away Friday August 28, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 21, 1928 in Francisco, IN the son of Charles D. and Flora (Minnis) Bee. He married Peggy J. Carr on March 16, 1969 in Evansville.
Charles retired from Whirlpool. He enjoyed writing poetry and was also an accomplished guitar player and wrote many of his own songs. He was an inventor of many "gadgets". He had served as a Posey County Special Deputy. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Evansville.
He is survived by his wife Peggy; his son, Charles F. (Joanni) Bee Jr. and his daughter Tonia (Dennis) Hill; four grandchildren, Craig (Holly) , Kasi and Heather Bee and Katie Hill; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James R. (Anne) Bee. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Scott Donner, his brother, Donald E. Bee and two sisters, Bertha Cooper and Doris Stahl.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Wadesville with military rites by Owen Dunn Post #5. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday August 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
