Cecil Gross

Cecil Gross, 98, of Carmi, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 10:38 a.m. at Phoenix Nursing and Rehab in Carmi. He was born August 18, 1915 in Ridgway, IL the son of Sherman Alfred and Maggie Belle (Dillard) Gross. He married Evelyn Miner and she preceded him in death February 14, 2010. Cecil was a farmer and a member of the Omaha General Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Ruth Ann and Eddie Weaver of Carmi; a son and daughter-in-law Keith and Pat Gross of Carmi; three sisters Eva Smith of Godfrey, IL , Mabel Foss of Alton, IL, and Iona Seely of Cadilac, MI; a sister-in-law Runa Gross of Fredericktown, MO; a brother Alfred Gross of Fredericktown, MO; four grandcildren Trevor Weaver of Evansville, IN, Bryan Weaver of Carmi, Matt and Christy Gross of Union, KY, and Mitch and Mary Ann Gross of Carmi; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Clyde Gross.

Funeral services for Cecil Gross, 98 of Carmi, will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in the North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Friends may Call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m until service time at 1:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be given in Cecil Gross name to the Phoenix Nursing and Rehab and may be given at the Campbell Funeral Home.
