Cathy Lane

Cathy Lane, 81, of Carmi, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:45 p.m. at her home. She was born in Orchardville, IL on September 16, 1932, the daughter of John and Gladys (Schofield) Smith. Cathy graduated from Wayne City High School in 1952. She married Robert Leonard Lane on July 19, 1956. Cathy had worked as an operator for GTE. She was a member of the Red Hatters and First Christian Church of Carmi.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob Lane of Carmi; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Lane of St. Louis, MO and Todd and Penny Lane of Evansville, IN; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth Jones of Plymoth, CA, Betty Ann and Jack Cameron of Fairfield, Maxine and David Allison of Zenia, Imogene Caudle of Lee's Summitt, MO, Florence Talbert of Fairfield and Ruby Cook of Savoy, IL; five grandchildren, Sarah, Scott, Kaylee, Matthew and Krista Lane; a sister-in-law, Eva Lane of Fairfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Glenda Davidson and Verneta Scott; and three brothers, Johnny, Earl and Burl Smith.

Funeral services for Cathy Lane, 81, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in White County Memorial Garden. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
