Carrol Bratcher

Carrol E. Bratcher, age 73 of Mount Vernon, died Monday afternoon August 8, 2011 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born September 17, 1937 in Louisville, KY the son of Connie Lee and Mary Bell (Stevens) Bratcher.


Carrol worked as a welder for many years, having worked at AVCO Aero Structures in Nashville, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served several years with the National Guard.


He is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Theresa Bratcher of Poseyville; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Michelle Webb and Amanda and John Turner all of Mt. Vernon; 5 grandchildren, Kevin Tyler Webb, Kendale Webb, Destiny Jewel Turner, Alec Grace Turner and Kayce Moore; 1 great-grandchild, Aiden Moore. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha M. Johnson and 1 sister, Charlotte B. Mattingly.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday August 10, 2011 at the Austin~Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Mark Tabor officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by Owen Dunn Post #5. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven, IL at a later date.
