Carolyn McGhee, 73, of Norris City passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at 1:48 am at Phoenix Rehab and Nursing in Carmi, IL. She was born June 8, 1938 in Hamilton County, IL, the daughter of Leland Harrell and Harriett Ellen (Wheeler) Wheeler. Carolyn married Frank McGhee on May 14, 1954 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2003. She was a homemaker.
Carolyn is survived by a daugher and son-in-law, Roxane and Dan Eck of Springerton; a brother, Gary Lee Wheeler of Norris City, IL; a sister, Helen McGhee of Enfield, IL; three grandchildren, Amy Ellison and her husband, Kevin, Danielle Short and her husband, Heath and Ryan Eck and his wife, Lacy; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Clotine Flannigan and Gail Rodgers and three brothers, Harold Eugene Jordan, Bertis Wheeler and Marvin Wheeler.
Funeral services for Carolyn McGhee, 73, of Norris City, will be Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Randy Plunkett officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery in Broughton, Friends may call on Sunday after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
