Carol Guffey

Carol Lee Earl Guffey, 72 of Carmi, died Saturday morning June 7, 2014 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born May 16, 1942 in East St. Louis, IL the daughter of Leslie and Ruby (Dunn) Daniels.

Carol had worked as a CNA at local nursing homes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi.

She is survived by 3 sons, James Hogan and Steven Allen Earl and Louis Edward Banks; 1 daughter, Carla Phillips; 6 sisters, Shirley Holloway, Geraldine Spearhouse, Helen Tipton, Laura Dell Newcomb, Janet Casulass and Carolyn Rider, 3 brothers, James Daniels, Richard Daniels, Billy Ray Daniels; 5 step-sons, Billy, James, Eugene, Tom and Richard Earl; 2 step-daughters, Viola Hungate and Yvonne Fields; 10 grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday June 12, 2014 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in N. Maple Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
