Carl Roser, 100, life long resident of White County, IL, passed away, Friday, November 9, 2012 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL. He was born October 24, 1912 in White County, IL, the son of Charles Elmer and Minnie Merle (Lutz) Roser. Carl married Vida Lucy Ragel December 24, 1932 and she preceded him in death November 5, 2001. He was a grain and live stock farmer, a member and former board member of the White County Farm Bureau. Carl was a member and deacon at Burnt Prairie Congregational Christian Church.
Carl is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Joyce and Tom Renfro of Quitman, Georgia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lowell and Sue Roser and Charles "Red" Roser all of Carmi; eight grandchildren, Kent and Shannon Roser, Kyle and Nikki Roser, Scott Roser, Annette and Barry Carter, Ryan Roser, Mark Renfro, Carla and David Naylor and Natalie Chambliss; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys White; two brothers, Doyle and Ralph Roser; and a grandson, Kevin Renfro.
Funeral services for Carl Roser, 100, Carmi, will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Ruby McDowell officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be given in Carl's name to a favorite charity.
