Biography
Carl “Dutch” Acord, 63, of Carmi, passed away at his home on Friday, October 30, 2015. He was born September 26, 1952 in Fairfield, the son of William and Georgia Faye (Mundy) Acord. He married Betty Moss on March 21, 1998.
Dutch had worked in the oilfield.
He is survived by his wife Betty; sons, Kevin (Sarah) Konkle of Equality and Jonathan (Ashley) Acord of Washington, IN and Robert (Rosemary) Mitchell of Carmi; daughters, Tabitha (Jeff) Holland of Carmi, Melissa (Alan) Mullins of Grayville, Jessica (Anthony) Acord of Crossville and Amber Newman of Carmi, and Heather (Terry)Bond of McLeansboro; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Patty) Acord, and George Acord of Carmi and Johnny Acord of Mass; sisters, Mary (Dave) Jordan and Gertie Browning of Carmi and Wilma (George) Martineli of Woodstock, Mass. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jonathan Acord, Jr., brothers, Louis and Raymond and sisters, Rosalie Doneghue, Faye Mitchell and Vonda Rosignol.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday November 2, 2015 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Chaplain Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Kuykendall Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
