Buck Brennan
January 12, 1937 — March 22, 2013
Burton “Buck” Brennan, age 76, of Carmi, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born January 12, 1937, in Haley, Idaho, the son of James and Betty (Maloney) Brennan. He married Lyndel Hertlein in February 24, 1957 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
He is a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the Air Force having served 31 years. During his time in the Air Force he received the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Medal with 1 oak leaf, Meritorious Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaves, the Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation and numerous other medals. He then worked in Albany, OR with the Parole and Probation office.
In addition to his wife, Lyndel; he is survived by daughters, Debra (Miguel) Santos and Dawn (Joe) Ellingson; granddaughters, Desiree Santos and Olivia Ellingson; sisters, Joyce (Roger) Williamson, Faye Beasley and Linda (Steve) Hanson, numerous nieces and nephews, one sister-in-law, Stella Whetsone, one brother-in-law, Lewis Ray (Louise) Hertlein.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, Ray and Doris Reiley, brother, Bud Bennett, sisters, Audrey Reiley, Alice Hutchings and Barbara Bennett; sisters-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Comer, Luella Bingman, Cuma Wiegele, and a brother-in-law, Glen Hertlein.
A graveside burial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Maple Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Roger Whetstone and Rev. Gene Ramsey will preside. Military burial rites will be performed by the American Legion and VFW Posts of Carmi.
