Bobby Eckiss, Sr

Bobby Eckiss, Sr., 85, of Carmi, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at 8:55 a.m. at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil, IN. He was born September 26, 1928 in Mt. Carmel, IL, the son of John and Tillie (Smith) Eckiss. Bobby married Ellon Bruce McClure on October 8, 1949. He was a member of Teamsters, a Truck Driver and a member of Springerton Community Church.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ellon "Mickey" Eckiss; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Kenny Rager of Carmi, Tina and Robert Timmerman of Independence, KY and Sandra and Jay Robison of Haubstadt, IN; three sons and daughters-in-law; Bobby and Ruth Eckiss, Jr. of Robards, KY, Kevin and Susie Eckiss of Brazil, IN and Terry and Teri Eckiss, Sr. of Boonville, IN; 10 grandchildren, Brett (Sara) Rager, Brian (Juanita) Rager, Jenny (Jeremy) Gibson, Jeremy Eckiss, Jennifer (Cody) Glaser- Remaklus, Terry Eckiss, Savannah Eckiss, Jason Eckiss, Scott Robison, Amy (Jason) Yow; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorene Williams; and two brothers, Raymond and Merylin Eckiss.

Funeral Services for Bobby Eckiss, 85, of Carmi will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Kenny Rager and Rev. William Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in Bobby's memory to Inside Out Recovery, 1408 E. Hendrix St., Brazil, IN 47834 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
