Fairfield Bay

Robert “Bob” Wayne Healy, 78 of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away on October 24, 2023. He was born on July 19, 1945 in Eldorado, Illinois to Don and Louise Healy. Robert graduated from Norris City High School in 1964. He then enlisted in the Army and was active duty until he was honorably discharged in 1968. Moving to Texas, he worked for Texas Eastman until 1975. He returned to his home town again and learned carpentry from his dad. He also spent a number of years working in the coal mines and operating his own business building log homes in Healy Log Homes. His love for carpentry continued until his death. Robert was a free spirit that enjoyed long motorcycle rides across the county, hiking and metal detecting. His ornery, joking personality and fondness to be sarcastic was always apparent. But, his love for his boxer dogs stretched decades.

Bob is survived by his fiancé, LaVerta Bishop of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; daughter, Stacy Newton (Paul) of Wichita, Kansas; son, Stephen Healy (Ruth) of Blue Springs, Missouri; stepchildren, Tammie Bishop and fiancé Scott of Judsonia, Arkansas, and Brandon Bishop and fiancé Teresa of Scotland, Arkansas; grandchildren, Ashlyn (Brad), Bryant (Lyndsie), Kalyn, Faith, Aidan, Cruz (Melinda), Miguel, Savanah, Alisha (Rodney), Branson, Jordan, Billy, Luke; and great grandchildren, Dominic; a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Louise Healy; sister, Gloria Jean Healy, Frank Healy and Uncle Gene Healy.

There will be a celebration of life in New Haven, Illinois at Higher Ground on November 18, 2023, at 2pm.
