Blanche Winter

Blanche Winter, 92, of Carmi, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born in Gallatin County, Illinois on January 6, 1923, the daughter of Edmund and Stella (Wilson) Musgrave. Blanche graduated from Ridgway High School in 1940. She married Virtus Winter on February 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2015. Blanche was a farm wife and loving mother who loved to garden and cook. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she served in many roles, United Methodist Women, White County Extension and PTA at Newman and Brownsville School.
Blanche is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Kenny Woolsey of Carmi and Sheila and Doug Westfall of Enfield; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Winter of Sesser, Alan and Teresa Winter of Cleveland, TN and Kevin and Kelly Winter of Carmi; a brother, Paul Musgrave of Mountain Home, AR; nine grandchildren, Jarrett Winter, Sabrina Shun and husband, Brian, Stacey Woolsey, Angie French and husband, Jeff , Chris Winter, Melanie Winter, Ben Westfall and wife, Ashley, Sarah Haley and husband, Todd and Rachel Attebury and husband, Brad; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Blanche was preceded in death by seven siblings, Madge Hills, Eunice Wiest, Verbal Ann Musgrave, Elvis, Clyde and Ralph Musgrave and an infant; three grandsons, Daniel, Darin and Jeremy Woolsey; a granddaughter-in-law, Kristen Woolsey; and one great-grandson, Henry Alan Haley.
Funeral services for Blanche Winter, 92, of Carmi, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2015 at Zion United Methodist Church near Carmi with Rev. Van Scott and Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Blanche's memory to Zion United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
