Billy L. "Bill" Kuykendall, 80, of Crossville passed away at 1:15 a.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. He was born in Crossville, IL on January 16, 1940 the son of George Fred and Lelia Ruth (Owen) Kuykendall. Bill graduated from Crossville High School and went on to join the United States Navy. While in the Navy he attended the University of Southern California and graduated from the School of Film and Photography, and went on to be an accomplished photographer for the Navy. After, retiring from a lengthy career in the Navy, Bill returned to Crossville. His family would like to offer a special thank you to Cindy Hodgson and the girls at Citizens National Bank in Crossville, as well as the employees at Maier's Grocery for always being there to lend a hand to Billy.
Billy is survived by four sons, Carl, Keith, Freddy and Brett Kuykendall; the mother of his children, Doris; along with numerous nieces and nephews, including Rick and Lori Kuykendall who cared for him. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Broom, Eileen Thomas and Eleanor Lockwood; and five brothers, Max, James "Dick", Thomas, John Henry and Bob Kuykendall.
Services for Billy L. "Bill" Kuykendall, 80, of Crossville will be at 2:30 pm on Thursday August 6, 2020 with visitation starting at 1:00pm at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Little Wabash Cemetery near Crossville with full military rites provided by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions may be made in Billy's memory to Wabash Christian Village Chapel and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
