Bill Williams

     Bill Williams, 88, of Enfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, surrounded by his family in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on July 18, 1934, in Gallatin County, Illinois, the son of Oren Elmo and Thelma (Reisinger) Williams. Bill married Wilma Lee Barbre on April 24, 1955, and she survives. He was a grain and livestock farmer. Bill was a member of the Enfield Christian Church where he served as a deacon in the past. He was a member of the Enfield School Board from 1970-1983. and served as  president  for a term. Bill served on the White County Farm Bureau Board  and served as president for a term. Bill served as Enfield Township Trustee and was a past White County GOP Chairman. He was a director of the District 17, IAA Board where he served on the Oil and Gas and Prairie Farms board from 1985-2003.

     In addition to his wife, Wilma Willams of Enfield, IL, Bill is survived by his children, Sarah (Roy) Hardesty of Broughton, IL, Linda (Rick) South of Enfield, IL, and Bryan (Beth) Williams of Enfield, IL; four grandchlldren, Melissa (Ward) Wuornos, Bryce (Morgahn) Williams, Jessica (Blake) Williams, and Brenna (Christopher) Coronado; four great-grandchildren, Kayla and Erin Wuornos, Isla Williams, and Oren Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Richard Joseph South; a sister, Cora Faye Williams; and a son-in-law, Mike Ballard.

     Funeral services for Bill Williams will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Enfield Christian Church in Enfield, Illinois, with burial at Enfield Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Enfield Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bill's memory to the White County Farm Bureau Foundation Fund, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
