William “Bill” Weldin, 88 of Enfield, passed away Sunday February 21, 2016 at Enfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 11, 1927 in Enfield, the son of Hugh and Hazel (Miller) Weldin. He married Phylis Jean Wicker on June 4, 1954 in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Bill had worked as a farmhand for Willard Brockett for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Alaska and Korea. He was a member of the Springerton American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jean; daughters, Janet Weldin of Carmi, Wanda Weldin of Dubois, and Rhonda (David) Bachman of Carmi; son, Randall Weldin of Enfield; three grandchildren, Laura Clagg, Shelby and Emma Bachman and one great-grandchild, Zane Clagg; one sister, Joann (Joel) Healy of Norris City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday February 24, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with burial in Enfield Cemetery.
