Bill Sneed

Bill (William) Sneed 78 of Carmi, IL passed away at 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Gateway Deaconess Hospital.  He was born in Bungay, IL on Feb. 3, 1939, the son of Robert & Angie (Smith) Sneed.  Bill married Jean (Thelma) Bryant on July 27, 1958.

He loved & admired his family. They were the purpose of his life. He cherished his lifelong friends in his personal and professional life. He was a Godly man and was involved in various church activities in the area. Bill farmed from 1959-82. He was in the construction business his entire life and managed several rental properties in the area.

Mr. Sneed is survived by his wife Jean of 59 years, children, Joyce (Dave) Edwards and

Darrell (Cindy) Sneed; granddaughter, Star Bertram, great grandson, Hendrix Bertram;

several special grandchildren by Heart, Amy (Williams) Evans, Dakota (Rose) Baseden,

Drae (Rose) Simmons, Samaira Snow, Courtney Snow, Eric Thomas, Justin Williams; sisters, Rita (Sneed) Ferari, Violet (Sneed) Janitch, Janice (Smith) Richard Winter; brothers, John Sneed, Curtis Sneed, Leroy (Karen) Sneed, Robert (Ruth) Sneed; sister-In-law, Dottie Sneed, Dorothy Smith; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Angie Sneed. His guardian parents, Wilfred (Foxy) and Edna Smith, along with 3 brothers, Cletus Sneed, Darrell Smith, and Wendell Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Old Springer Cemetery.
