Betty Whipple

Betty Whipple, 79 of Norris City, passed away Tuesday January 29, 2013 at 4:50 p.m. at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born on April 21, 1933 in Norris City, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Rodgers) Aud. Betty married Carl Reid Whipple on August 2, 1948. She was a homemaker and attended the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City.

Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl; two sons, Michael and Sandra Whipple of La Grange, KY and Tom and Margaret Whipple of Champaign, IL; one daughter, Sherry Bowman of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Michael Bowman, Andrew Whipple,Patrick Whipple, April Whipple and Rachel Whipple;and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Bowman, III; two brothers, Donald and Dalton Aud; two half brothers, Lawrence Aud and Glenn Utley; and two half sisters, Ruby Ellis and Mary Nichols.

Funeral services for Betty Whipple, 79, of Norris City, will be Friday, February 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Rusty Pedigo officiating. Burial will be at Powell Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial gifts may be given in Betty's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Norris City and will be accepted at the funeral home.
