Betty Persinger

Betty I. Persinger, age 82 of Mt. Vernon, died early Sunday morning June 6, 2010 at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, MI. She was born December 14, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Clifford T. and Margaret (Meador) Kern. She was married to Raymond Persinger and he preceded her in death.


Mrs. Persinger had worked as a nurse aid.


She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Phyllis Persinger and Raymond Douglas Persinger all of Mt. Vernon; two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Persinger of Westland, MI and Donna and Glen Kavitch of Denver, CO; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Kenneth; and one brother, James T. Kern.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday June 10, 2010 at the Austin~Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with burial in Black Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services. Online condolences may be left at austinfuneralhome.com
