Betty Dauby

June 16, 1928 — February 22, 2017

Betty Jane Dauby, 88, of Springerton, IL, passed away on Wednesday evening, February 22, 2017 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.  She was born on June 16, 1928 in Rome, IN, the daughter of George Frank and Viola (Dutschke) Mitchell.  She married Clarence Dauby on August 15, 1951 in Cannelton, IN and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1998.

Mrs. Dauby was a loving farm wife and homemaker.  She was a caring and giving person, and especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.   She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Enfield and was active in the Altar Society and had served on the Parish Council.  During her children’s school years, she was involved in the Springerton Grade School PTA and had served as President.  She was a member of the Enfield Red Hatters Club.

She is survived by four sons, Gary (Joanne) Dauby of Power Springs, GA, Jordan David Dauby of Cathedral City, CA, Randy (Cretia) Dauby of Enfield,IL and Tim (Jonda) Dauby of Springerton, IL; daughter, Gail (Ronald) Dierolf of Apalachicola, FL; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Stuart) Trent, Jamie Dierolf, Christopher Dierolf, Jeffrey Dauby, Alex (Whitney) Dauby, Aaron Dauby, Rachel Dauby, Kevin (Melanie) Dauby, Michael (Amy) Dauby, and Jonathan Dauby; six great-grandchildren, Hollon Trent, Hailey Trent, Matthew Dierolf, Julian Dierolf, Gavin Dauby and Conner Dauby; sisters, Iola King and Anna Mae Scarboro, both of Louisville, KY.  She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Melissa Dauby, brother, Leonard Mitchell and sister, Lorraine Holly.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Enfield, IL, with burial in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.  Following the Rosary at 3:45 p.m., visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield, IL.  Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick’s Altar Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.  On-line condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
