Betty Louise Brown

Betty Louise (McNeill) Brown, 94, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on February 8, 1928. in Thompsonville, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Blanche (Crain) McNeill. Betty married Archie Brown in 1966, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. Betty worked for 32 years at Sears as a clerk and later as a manager. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi. She enjoyed playing piano, dancing, traveling, and playing bridge.

    Betty is survived by her granddaughter, Bree Muse of Ocala, FL. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Thomas Dorsey Muse and David Monroe Muse; three siblings, Burton McNeill, Earl McNeill, and Jean MoCavy Lee.

     Funeral services for Betty Brown will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Carmi.  Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, February 3, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Carmi. Stendeback Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
