Belinda Sue Yancy, 61, of Griffin, IN, passed away Thursday, May 30, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 5, 1957, to her parents Guy E. and Claudette E. Carner, who preceded her in death.
Belinda was a part of the first graduating class of Gibson Southern High School in 1975. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, canning vegetables, and being a friend and mother to anyone in need. Belinda worked as an oil pumper and later as a bus driver for the MSD of North Posey until she resigned to take on the full time job of caring for her parents during their final years of life.
Belinda is survived by her husband of nearly 33 years, Robert W. Yancy; children, Melissa Miller and Erin (Amanda) Yancy; granddaughter, Hannah Miller; great-grandson, Carter Wood; brother, Guy (Twyala) Carner II; sister, Diana Rash; nieces, Katie Carner and Anna Rash; and nephew, Christian Carner.
Visitation will be held from 2pm – 7pm on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN. A graveside service will be held at Bethsaida Cemetery at 10 am on Tuesday June 4, 2019. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
