Barbara Long

Barbara Long, 75, of Norris City, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 9:35 a.m. at her residence. She was born on September 7, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of George Wilson and Agnes Marie (Taylor) Morris. Barbara married William Vonnell Long on May 7, 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Norris City.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill of Norris City; five daughters, Desira F. (Greg) Purcell, Bonnell Long, Barbara Jo (Earl) McKenzie and Cheryle Leigh (Rand) Walters all of Norris City and Kathy Ann (Keith) Millspaugh of Newton; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn (Eddie) Thomas of Owensboro, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Farin Long on November 11, 1979; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeannie Duncan; and a brother, Bradley Morris.

Funeral and burial services for Barbara Long, 75, of Norris City, were held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Prairie Cemetery near Norris City, with Rev. Dennis Reed officiating. Lance Long, Matthew Long, Sr., Matthew Long, Jr., Jordan Johnson, Jeremy Millspaugh and Seth Walters served as casket bearers. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, was in charge of arrangements.
