Barbara Boyd

Barbara Boyd, 69, of Norris City passed away at 4:43 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.  She was born in Eldorado, IL on May 29, 1948 the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Peggy Dean (Smith) Boyd.  Barbara was an educator, having taught in North Carolina and after returning to Norris City worked as the Head Start Home Visitor for WADI.  She had attended the Norris City United Methodist Church. Barbara was an avid reader and bird watcher, enjoyed painting and was a devoted animal lover.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sara Hatfield of Norris City; her mother, Peggy Brewer of Norris City; a sister, Patty Wright of Norris City; two nieces, Andrea Ray and Angelita Stewart; a great niece and nephew, Ava and Aidan Ray; and her uncle Mike (Jenny) Smith.  She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Boyd and step-father, Bruce Brewer.

Funeral services for Barbara Boyd, 69, of Norris City will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Joe Skaggs officiating.  Burial will be in Village Cemetery near Norris City.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home and on Wednesday from noon till service time.  Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23453 or ASPCA, 44 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
