Barbara Ballard

Barbara A. Ballard, 56 of Carmi, passed away Sunday morning October 8, 2017 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born July 25, 1961 in Carmi, the daughter of Donald Ross and Donna (Ward) James. She married James B. Ballard on September 3, 1982.
Barb had been a hairdresser for many years working out of Reflections Beauty Shop. She loved spending time at Kentucky Lake and the beaches in Florida. Most of all she loved her family. She had attended Living Hope Church in Carmi.
She is survived by her husband Jim; her daughters, Brooke (Billy) Wagner of Evansville, Bayle (Josh) Cronin of Carmi and Brandi Ballard of Carmi; grandchildren, Taylor, Mylie and Evan Cronin, Parks, Cameron, Rossi and Van Wagner; mother, Donna James of Carmi; mother-in-law, Dortha Ballard of McLeansboro; sisters, Melody (Mike) Sweeney of New Baden and Gayla (Martin Ray) Barbre of Carmi. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Whitney, Shayle, Tyler, Daniel, Corey, Amber Dawn, Chris, Rocky, Rusty, Lisa, Matt, Lucas and Colt; brother and sisters-in-law, Craig and Kevin Ballard, Rhonda Millenbine, LeaAnn Jones and Tracy Strole. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald James and her father-in-law, C.E. “Shorty” Ballard.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Nathan Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi.
