Aubrey Catlin

Aubrey L. Catlin, 78, of Carmi passed away at 5:20 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Linda White Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.  He was born in Norris City, IL on November 27, 1938, the son of Dwight Wayne and Ruth (Buttry) Catlin.  Aubrey married Janice Sue Burris on August 10, 1957.  He was a 1956 graduate of Norris City High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic from 1957-1960 and achieved the rank of Airman 3rd Class.  Aubrey supervised and managed the Platolene 500 in Carmi and retired after 23 years.  He loved to spend time with his family and to go bowling, fishing and camping.

Aubrey is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sue of Carmi; three sons, Brian Catlin and Michael Catlin both of Carmi and Troy (Mary) Catlin of Evansville, IN; a sister, Stella Knowles of Imperial Beach, CA; six grandchildren, Cory, Kelly, Justin, Mariah, Ashton and Abagail Catlin; and three great-grandchildren, Garrett, Kaden, and Avery Catlin.

Funeral services for Aubrey L. Catlin, 78, of Carmi will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi with full military rites by the Carmi American Legion and VFW.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Memorial contributions may be made in Aubrey's memory to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
