Anna Belle Baird, 91, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and formerly of Eldorado, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at Country Living Assisted Living in Mountain Grove. She was born November 14, 1924, in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Elder Jacob and Mary Ellen (Doty) Baird.
After working many years in the St. Louis area, Anna Belle retired from the Controller’s Office at Washington University. She was a member of the Mayflower Society, Pilgrim Edward Doty Society, Founders and Patriots Society, New England Women Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, United States Daughters of 1812 and the White County Genealogy Society.
While in Mountain Grove, Anna Belle enjoyed her retirement, especially the Neighborly Ladies Club, and having the time and ability to travel to new places.
Her family considered her their official genealogist, and greatly enjoyed the gems of information she uncovered about early relatives.
Anna Belle is survived by several nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by her brother, Jacob Cletus Baird, and her sisters Mary Bernice Rice, Nancy Berneeda Rupprecht, Maye Beatrice Feuquay and Velma Grace Baird.
Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi, Illinois will host Anna Belle’s funeral services at 11 AM on Sat., April 30. Public visitation will begin at 10 AM with burial in the Centerville Cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
