Allene Campbell

Allene Campbell, 95, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on October 27, 1919 in Maunie, IL,the daughter of Alford Cornelius "A.C." and Eppsa Jane (Wade) Allison. Allene married Cort Huff on October 16, 1937 and he preceded her in death November 21, 1965. She then married Bert Garrison Campbell on January 17, 1976 and he preceded her in death August 7, 1997. Allene worked at the Carmi Township Hospital for 10 years and was a member of Marshall Ferry General Baptist Church in Maunie. She was an avid quilter and had an amazing memory. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Allene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Tolley of Newburgh, IN; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Brenda Huff and Don and Audrey Huff all of Carmi and Phillip R. and Kay Huff of Stonefort, IL; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Ragsdale of Carmi. Allene was preceded in death by two husbands; a daughter, Betty Boggs; a sister, Inez Blazier; and three brothers, Muriel Allison, Carl Allison and Manford Perry.

Funeral services for Allene Campbell, 95, of Carmi, will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Marshall Ferry Cemetery in Maunie. Friends may call on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Memorial gifts may be given in Allene's name to Marshall Ferry General Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
