Alice Sturms

Alice M. Sturms, age 49, Mt. Vernon, IN formerly of Carmi, IL died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN following a brief illness.

Alice was born July 18, 1958 in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Robert and Helen Peerman, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Sturms, and two brothers, Gary Johnson and Robert Peerman.

Alice lived in Carmi, IL for many years and worked at Wabash Christian Retirement Center as a certified nurse’s assistant.

Among her survivors are three children, Joni Sturms, James (Amy) Sturms, Jr. and Kevin Sturms all of Mt. Vernon, IN; two grandchildren, Dylan Sturms and Jasmine Sturms and one due (Austin) anytime; three brothers, Gerald (Diane) Peerman, Vinegrove, KY, Tom (Debbie)Peerman, Norris City, IL and Kenneth (Deloris) Peerman of Mt. Vernon, IN; and a sister, Carol (Edd) Buttry of Carmi, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from Noon until time of service. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasanat Cemetery in Griffin, IN.
