Aleta Winter

Aleta Fern Winter, 70, of Carmi, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. She was born April 19, 1946 in Eldorado, IL the daughter of Edwin Louis and Gladys Laura (Barbre) Winter.  Aleta was a 1964 graduate of Carmi Township High School. She was the owner/operator of Aleta's Beauty Shop for over 50 years. She loved riding horses and was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church.

Aleta is survived by a brother, Dale (Linda) Winter of Carmi; niece, Laura (Mike) Kopshever of Newburgh, IN; nephew, Brad (Kaylen) Winter of Newburgh, IN; great-nephew, Hayden Kopshever; great-niece, Sloan Winter; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Aleta Fern Winter, 70, of Carmi, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Jerry Crawford and Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, Memorial contributions may be made in Aleta's memory to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
