Aleen Penrod

Aleen S. Penrod, 92, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 3:22 a.m. at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born February 24, 1920 in Posey County, Indiana, the daughter of Raymond and Pearl (Coleman) Aldrich. Aleen married Robert James Penrod September 10, 1937 and he preceded her in death July 3, 1974. Aleen was a member of the Assembly Of God Church in Carmi.

Aleen is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Graham of Lake Hills, TX; a son, David Penrod of Lake Hills, TX; a son-in-law, Ottis Burgess of Jerseyville, IL; two sisters, Flora Crayne of Carmi and Barbara Schlarb of South Fulton, TN; two brothers, Donald Aldrich of Sweeney, TX and Floyd Aldrich of St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Roberta Burgess; four sisters, Alma Schut, Elfleda Smith, Ada Belle Douthitt and Eloise Hargar; and six brothers, Ermil, Guy, Sampson, Ray, Marvin and Lloyd Aldrich.

Funeral services for Aleen S. Penrod, 92, of Crossville, will be held Friday, September 15 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginning Church of God in Carmi with Rev. Keith Moore officiating. Burial will be in Little Wabash Cemetery in Crossville. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given in Aleen's name to Wabash Christian Retirement Center Alzheimer's Unit in Carmi and will be accepted at the funeral home.
