Mary Beck

Mary E. Beck 90 of Norris City, IL passed away Thursday December 21, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born October 3, 1927 in Carmi, the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Austin) Knight. She married Edward J. Beck on August 21, 1955 at Union Ridge Presbyterian Church near New Haven and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2000.

Mary had a long career as a school teacher, having taught in Crossville and Eldorado. She was a member of the IL Retired Teachers Association, White County Home Extension, White County Historical Society and a longtime and active member of the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, Terry E. Beck of Evansville; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward; and brother Paul Knight.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Union Ridge Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church. Memorials are suggested to the Church and can be made in care of the funeral home.
