Ethan Josiah Black, 18 of Mount Vernon, IN passed away Saturday morning March 25, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born January 5, 1999 in Evansville, the son of Robert "Bobby" Black and Gina (Frazee) Lefler.
Ethan was a believer in Jesus. Upon his graduation this past week, he intended to join the United States Marine Corp. Ethan was all about being outdoors. He loved shooting and was an expert marksman.
He is survived by his parents, Bobby (Bridget) Black and Gina (Jared) Lefler; his sisters, Marriah (Scott) Foley, Lilly and Makayla; brother, TJ; grandparents, Bob and Janis Black, Thomas and Dawn Kuhn, Deborah Sheese; great-grandparents, Lowell "Paco" Hess and Alfred Doyle Shelton; aunts and uncles, Andrea Freeland, Dean Moll, Jr., Clifton Kaiser, Venus Werner, Dixie Krutsinger, Rebecca Law, Mark Sheese and Matthew Sheese.
A private burial and Celebration of his life were held. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon IN was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
